SMS Consent for Appointment Communication

Wichman Orthopedics may communicate with patients via SMS text messages to assist with appointment coordination.

How Patients Opt In

Patients provide their mobile phone number when scheduling an appointment with our clinic.

After scheduling, patients receive a text message asking them to confirm participation in appointment-related messaging.

Patients must reply YES to confirm consent before receiving additional SMS messages or automated intake calls.

What Messages Are Sent

SMS messages may include:

• appointment reminders

• scheduling coordination

• requests to complete a short automated pre-visit intake call

• other information related to an upcoming medical appointment

Message frequency varies depending on appointment activity.

Message and Data Rates

Standard message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier plan.

How Consent Is Recorded

When a patient replies YES, the response is recorded and stored in the clinic’s communication system, including:

• phone number

• opt-in confirmation message

• date and time of consent

Only patients who provide this confirmation will receive SMS messages.

Opt-Out Instructions

Patients may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message.

For assistance, reply HELP or contact our office directly.

Privacy

Mobile numbers and SMS consent information are used solely for appointment communication and are not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
